How to grow herbs
Plant pots, which will look gorgeous, you can plant them on your windowsill or outside your front door and just start with some Thyme or some Basil in the summer or some rosemary, or some sage. Whatever your favourite herb is because even that for me is such a fulfilling thing of not having to buy those small packets of herbs that you end up throwing away but just being able to go and pick something and chop it and sprinkle it lavishly over whatever you are doing.
Herbs such as basil, oregano, chives and rosemary are easy to grow at home, and are the perfect way to boost the flavour of a salad. Your fresh herbs will taste better than expensive packaged varieties, so what are you waiting for?
Most herbs thrive in full sun in a sheltered position.
You can grow herbs indoors on the windowsill, in pots outdoors or straight in the ground. Sow seeds of annual herbs like basil and coriander every couple of weeks to provide you with fresh leaves throughout summer.
Plant perennial herbs such as oregano, rosemary, chives and mint in pots or in the ground and harvest the leaves as and when you need them.
